Research Centre Recognition

S.A. Engineering College is recognised as a research centre where advanced research activities are conducted and scholars can pursue Ph.D. / M.S. (by Research) programmes. The research centre and its departments are approved by Anna University, Chennai.

Departments Recognised as Research Centres

The following departments at SAEC have been officially recognised as research centres:

• Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
• Department of Mechanical Engineering
• Department of Computer Science and Engineering

These centres support research leading to Ph.D. and M.S. (By Research), allowing faculty members to guide research scholars and pursue funded research projects.

Research Focus & Activities

At the institute research centre, SAEC engages in:

• Interdisciplinary research on socially relevant and technological topics.
• Consultancy services for industry and R&D organizations.
• Sponsored research projects supported by national funding agencies such as AICTE, DST (FIST/SERB/HSSRS), ISRO, DRDO, TNSCST, NBHM, DMRL, AR&DB and others.
• Workshops, seminars, conferences, and faculty development programmes in association with bodies like CSIR, IEEE, ISTE, ISRO, SERB, Anna University, AICTE.
• Support for patents, publications, and commercialization of innovations.

Research Achievements & Outputs

• SAEC has 35 doctorate faculty members and about 20 Anna University recognised research supervisors guiding research scholars.
• Around 85 research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. at these research centres.
• The college has produced several patents and hundreds of research publications, including Scopus-indexed journals.
