DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers B.E. degree program in Mechanical Engineering, M.E. degree program in Engineering Design and Ph.D. degree program. It is supported by a team of highly qualified faculty, many of whom hold Doctorates with expertise in Friction Stir Welding, 3D Printing, Composite Materials, Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Tribology, and Fuel Cell Technology.
Highlights:
- Ongoing Research Projects – Funded projects worth of more than Rs. One Crore from various DST schemes.
- The Research Lab is well-equipped with Vertical Machining Center (VMC), CNC, Robot, DOBOT, 3D Printing Machines, Friction Stir Welding (FSW) machine and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- The CAD and Mechatronics labs are set up with the latest software to enhance design and automation learning.
- The laboratories feature state-of-the-art machines such as Gear Hobbing Machine, Centreless Grinding Machine, Gear Shaping Machine, Dynamic Balancing Machine, Surface Roughness Tester, and a Steam Boiler & Turbine Test Rig.
- Faculty and students are members of professional bodies like SAE, ISTE, IEI, and ASME, fostering professional growth and networking.
- Two Centres of Excellence (CoE) for Smart Manufacturing (C-SAM) and 3D Printing.

Students will design, analyse, optimize mechanical, thermal, and fluid systems and components using engineering fundamentals and latest tools and along with modern manufacturing practices will ensure efficient solutions and quality standards in products
