Kargil Vijay Divas (Kargil Victory Day)
The NSS Unit of S.A. Engineering College organized Drawing and Elocution competitions on 26.07.2024 to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, as directed by Anna University, Chennai. The event aimed to honor the bravery of soldiers in the 1999 Kargil War and educate the younger generation about their sacrifice.
- The elocution competition saw participation from 25 students speaking in English and Tamil on the theme “Impact of Engineering Knowledge in Kargil Victory Day.”
- Around 120 students took part in the drawing competition, showcasing scenes from the Kargil War.
- A jury evaluated the participants based on content, clarity, and relevance, and prizes were awarded to the top three entries.
- Principal Dr. S. Ramachandran appreciated the students’ efforts and paid tribute to the Kargil heroes during his visit.
Har Ghar Tiranga
S.A. Engineering College organized the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign from 9th to 15th August 2024 to promote patriotism and national pride.
- Students, faculty, and staff actively participated by hoisting the national flag at their homes and sharing photos as part of the celebration.
- The campaign fostered a strong sense of unity and emotional connection with the national symbol across the college community.
- This memorable initiative strengthened patriotic values and is set to continue in future Independence Day celebrations.
Social Justice Day – Pledge
As directed by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Social Justice Day was organized in schools and educational institutions. At S.A. Engineering College, the event aimed to engage students in the vital cause of social justice.
- The focal point of the event was the pledge-taking ceremony, where students committed to promoting equality, fairness, and human rights in their communities.
- The initiative empowered students with values and awareness necessary to become advocates for social change and equality.
- The college principal addressed the students, highlighting how such initiatives nurture empathy, respect, and responsibility, preparing students to be future advocates and leaders in the fight for social justice.
Beach Cleaning Programme – Clean Beach! Our Pride! (Swachh Bharat)
S.A. Engineering College initiated the “Swachh Bharat Clean Beach Drive,” organized by college students, which proved to be a successful initiative that visibly improved the cleanliness of Pulicot Beach. The event also served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility in preserving the environment.
- Students participating in the clean-up not only contributed to a cleaner beach but also gained a deeper understanding of environmental issues affecting our planet.
- The event inspired both students and the local community to adopt sustainable habits and continue working toward a cleaner, greener future.

Traffic Quiz Program – Traffic & Road Safety Week (21/09/2024)
For the welfare of the students’ community, S.A. Engineering College conducted a Traffic Quiz Program on 21.09.2024 during Traffic and Road Safety Week. The program aimed to educate students about traffic rules, road safety, and the importance of following traffic laws to reduce accidents and improve safety on the roads.
- The quiz was designed to be an engaging and informative way of testing participants' knowledge while creating awareness about traffic safety.
- The event helped spread awareness about the importance of road safety and encouraged students to take proactive measures for safer roads.
- The college plans to organize similar events in the future to continue educating students and the larger community about road safety and traffic regulations.
Campus Cleaning Programme – Swachh Bharat (27/09/2024)
S.A. Engineering College organized a Campus Cleaning Programme (Swachh Bharat) along with Nehru Yuva Kendra on 27.09.2024 at the college campus. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of keeping their surroundings clean and encouraged them to contribute to a cleaner environment.
- The initiative was designed not only as a service activity but also as an educational experience, instilling a sense of responsibility in participants.
- Participants were divided into teams, each responsible for cleaning specific areas of the campus. Cleaning materials such as gloves, trash bags, brooms, and sanitizers were provided.
- The teams worked in different areas, including classrooms, corridors, gardens, pathways, parking areas, and surrounding spaces.
- The participation of students, faculty, and staff reflected a strong collective commitment to maintaining a green and clean campus.
- The college plans to hold similar initiatives regularly, fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental awareness, and inspiring students to make positive contributions to their communities and the environment.
Vigilance Awareness Week (28/10/2024 to 03/11/2024)
Vigilance Awareness Week was observed at S.A. Engineering College from 28/10/2024 to 03/11/2024 under the auspices of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The week-long event aimed to create awareness about the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life, as well as to promote a vigilant attitude among students and staff towards corruption and unethical practices.
- All participants, including students, faculty members, and staff, recited the pledge in unison, symbolizing their collective commitment to the principles of vigilance and integrity.
- The Principal stated: “The success of this initiative has laid the foundation for future activities focused on promoting transparency and accountability within the college.”
Constitution Day (26/11/2024)
Constitution Day, also known as 'Samvidhan Divas’, was celebrated at S.A. Engineering College premises on 26th November 2024 between 10 AM to 12 PM with the consent of the management. The college along with its NSS Unit organized various competitions for students, including an Oratorical Competition in English on the topic “Fundamental Duties” and an Essay Writing Competition in Tamil on the topic “Adippadai Kadamaigal”.
- Dr. D. Chithra Devi and Dr. D. Siva Kumar, Associate Professors from the CSE Department, acted as juries for the Oratorical Competition in English.
- Dr. S. Kavitha and Mr. P. Karthikeyan from the Tamil Department acted as juries for the Essay Writing Competition in Tamil.
- Many students actively participated in these events, and the winners were appreciated by the Principal, Dr. S. Ramachandran, who distributed the prizes.
- Earlier, all students and staff members took the Constitution Day pledge as part of the celebrations.

1930 Walkathon Programme (29/01/2025)
S.A. Engineering College, in collaboration with the Cyber Crime Department, organized the “1930 Walkathon Programme” to honor India’s freedom struggle. A total of 104 students actively participated, showing their dedication to national awareness and civic responsibility.
- The walkathon began at Kalaivanar Arangam and concluded at the Doordarshan Office, covering a meaningful route.
- The event aimed to spread awareness about the historical importance of the year 1930 and cyber safety among youth.
- Students held banners promoting patriotic values and responsible digital citizenship.
- Faculty members and officials from the Cyber Crime Department guided and supported the participants throughout.
- The programme concluded with a pledge to uphold national integrity and cyber responsibility.
Cybercrime Awareness Programme (06/02/2025)
S.A. Engineering College, in association with the Cyber Crime Department, organized a Cybercrime Awareness Programme to educate students about digital safety. A total of 29 students participated actively in the session.
- The session covered topics such as online fraud, phishing, identity theft, and the importance of strong passwords.
- Experts from the Cyber Crime Department shared real-life case studies and legal implications of cyber offenses.
- Interactive Q&A sessions allowed participants to clarify doubts and understand digital safety protocols.
- The programme concluded with a pledge to promote cyber hygiene and stay vigilant online.
Medical Checkup Camp (19/03/2025)
S.A. Engineering College, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Bharat, organized a comprehensive Medical Checkup Camp for students and staff, offering various health services including general checkup, blood sugar testing, eye exams, bone flexibility assessment, and ECG screening.
- Medical professionals and volunteers ensured proper screening and guidance.
- Participants received immediate feedback and preventive health tips.
- More than 100 individuals benefited from the free services provided during the camp.
- The camp emphasized regular health monitoring and early detection of ailments.
Blood Donation Camp (19/03/2025)
The NSS Unit of S.A. Engineering College, in association with the Lions Club of Bharat, organized a Blood Donation Camp on campus. The camp witnessed overwhelming participation from students, faculty, and staff.
- More than 250 units of blood were collected, making it one of the most successful donation drives conducted at the college.
- Qualified medical teams ensured safe collection and proper handling of the donated blood.

IPPB and PLI Camp for All Faculties (02/04/2025 – 03/04/2025)
S.A. Engineering College, in collaboration with the General Post Office (GPO), organized a two-day service camp on campus to provide students and staff access to essential postal and financial services.
- Services included Aadhaar linking, savings account opening, postal ID services, and speed post guidance.
- GPO officials set up dedicated counters to assist participants efficiently.

Aadhaar Enrollment / Passport / NPS Services (26/03/2025 – 28/03/2025)
S.A. Engineering College, in collaboration with the General Post Office (GPO), organized a three-day service camp providing Aadhaar Enrollment, Passport Services, and NPS assistance for students and staff.
- Services included Aadhaar corrections, new enrollments, biometric updates, passport application guidance, and NPS registration support.
